This small course is for people who are very new to acoustics and need to have a brief introduction to this great science.

It contains 5 lessons to explain: 

• the fundamental concepts of sound, with:
  • sound waves;
  • amplitude;
  • wavelength;
  • and frequencies.
• some more on wavelengths, frequencies and the spectrums of some instruments.
• what frequency bands are and how they are defined.
• the very basic concepts of:
  • sound propagation;
  • sound reflection;
  • sound absorption;
  • and transmission.
• how the human auditory system works.
